iPhone hacker Comex takes internship at Apple

Apple already has considerable engineering talent at its disposal, but the company is apparently adding another set of hands to the mix—just to keep things interesting. Nicholas Allegra—a.k.a. Comex—has revealed that he’s accepted an internship at Apple. It wouldn’t be terribly unusual to hear about a bright 19-year-old taking on an internship at Apple…except that Allegra is the author of JailbreakMe 2 and JailbreakMe 3, two hacks which enabled iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad owners to step outside of Apple’s curated application universe and run any software they like on their devices.

Punk Anonymous BART Hackers Should Be Unplugged for Life

COMMENTARY | There is such a thing as going too far. I can’t personally blame frustrated activists (who turned into computer hackers) for recent attacks on San Francisco’s BART system. What BART officials did to cell phone service was unconscionable and worthy of retribution. I’ve even said so.

Earlier this year, South Korean lawyer Kim Hyeong-seok won 1 million won (about $US945) in a lawsuit over iOS 4′s clandestine location tracking behavior; South Korean regulators also ordered Apple pay a fine for breaking the country’s information privacy laws.
